OUR PROCESS

We always encourage people to come by our shop and discuss their ideas in person so that we have a clear understanding of what the ideal end result is. This way we can provide an accurate price estimate instead of just a generalized ballpark.  Once an estimate is approved, customers pay a deposit and we get to work. The process begins with an in-person scheduled creative briefing, in which the VIP WRAPS team and the customer sit down to go over the creative vision for the project and the desired outcome. This meeting is the customer’s opportunity to bring their ideas to the table, whether it’s samples of existing marketing materials, photos found Online or in magazines, or even sketches on a piece of paper. We’ll go over all of these ideas together and will collectively come up with a creative direction.

From there, the VIP WRAPS will get started on an initial concept design based on the decided upon direction. This initial concept design will be presented to the customer as an electronic PDF with artwork mocked up on the customer’s specific vehicle, or in the case of other projects, as a digital photo of the wall, furniture or other surface to be wrapped showing the proposed artwork design. VIP WRAPS uses 3D renderings of vehicles so that customers can see where the text is in relation to the door handles, how far above the vehicle’s natural “body line” the gradient begins, etc. For unique projects that VIP WRAPS does not have a 3D template for already, we’ll photograph the vehicle/project to be wrapped, take measurements, and create a custom template specific for that project.  The point is that all artwork concepts are delivered to customers on true-to-size templates of their actual vehicle. We don’t use line drawings or old school “outline” proofs  of 2D cars, we only use the real deal.

After receiving the initial concept design, customers are allowed to request up to three rounds of revisions to the artwork. What this means is that after seeing the initial concept, the customer can then send the VIP WRAPS team an email asking for a series of changes (i.e., “make this photo larger” or “change that text to red”). After receiving the request for revisions, the artwork will be updated accordingly and then a new proof will be sent to the customer.  The process will then repeat up to two more times, meaning the customer can make another set of revision requests, receive a new concept, and make a final set of requests, all without incurring any additional design charges. In our experience, artwork tends to be finalized by the second round of revisions at the latest, rarely does it need all three rounds.  In the event that more rounds of revisions are necessary, VIP WRAPS will work with the customer to come up with a fair rate for added design time.

Upon approving the artwork design, VIP WRAPS will work with the customer to schedule a date for installation. On the day of the installation appointment, VIP WRAPS will double check all measurements to ensure optimal graphic fit and get started on the printing process. In certain circumstances, panels can be printed in advance, it just depends on the project.  Once the panels are printed they are laminated with an optically clear over laminate which protects the graphics from UV fading or other damage, which can otherwise occur over time. The vehicle is prepped for wrapping and the installation process begins.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Wraps come in all different shapes & sizes. Wraps start as large sheets of adhesive backed vinyl film designed specifically for vehicle application made available in a variety of styles & finishes. Some wraps are a full color change in matte, satin or gloss finishes, as well as chrome, “carbon fiber” look, and beyond. Vehicle wraps can also consist of printed designs containing imagery, photos, graphics, or branded elements to represent a business or group, or as “accents” on vehicle features like trim, spoilers, hoods, roofs, and trunks. Truly, the possibilities are endless; recent advancements in vinyl production technology has also opened up the possibilities to textured vehicle wraps like leather, alligator, snake skin, or holographic & 3D films!:

DANIEL L

Based on the numerous positive reviews, I decided to take my car in to vip wraps   about a year ago.  The first time I drove by, Douglas wasn't actually there which left me a bit disappointed and uneasy.  The second time, I called and made an appointment to bring my car in.  It's a small garage that I noticed was kept pretty clean and organized, which was important for me to see considering I was about to dish out 200+ bucks for his service.  Douglas was very friendly and didn't make me feel rushed at all when I was selecting the tint levels.  He showed me his own car which had 20% tints on it so I can better gauge the darkness level.

Tinting all 5 windows took little less than 3 hours, and when I came back, the car looked beautiful.  There wasn't a single spot on my front+rear windows that wasn't covered.  No air bubbles or imperfections.  The water spots between tint and window will dry out after a few days and disappear.  It looks like an air bubble at first, but it's actually not.  So don't worry about it.

It's been almost a year now, and my tints are still looking great.  My friend complimented them the other day, saying whoever tinted my car did a great job.  For those enthusiasts out there, Douglas also carries 3M tints, which are higher-quality and a bit more expensive.  I didn't get those, but it's nice to know you have an option.  Also, be forewarned if you decide to tint your front windows because it is *illegal* in California.  I already got ticketed once while my car was parked in a park n' ride lot (ridiculous) and pulled over once on the entrance ramp to 101.
